So...you just joined Watkins? How do you get started?
Here are my top tips for getting your business off to a great start!
First--DREAM BIG.
Create a clear vision for yourself. If this business were to give you all that you wanted--what would that look like. Imagine your perfect day one year from now. Write it down--morning until night. Use your five senses and as much detail as possible. What are you doing? seeing? hearing? Who are you with? How do you feel?
BELIEVE that YOU CAN DO IT.
Remember the law of attraction: Pay attention to your thoughts and words and be sure they are positive and in line with your vision: Whatever you focus on will grow and expand in your life. If you think and talk about what you hate about your life--that is exactly what you will attract more of!!
Focus on what you are grateful for. Focus on your vision! SEE it and FEEL it--your mind cannot help but look for a way to create it!
Find your WHY--
Why did you join? What excites you most about your home business? Be sure it is a big enough WHY to propel you into ACTION. That means that you need to FEEL it. It should elicit emotion. Did you join to be able to spend more time with your children? Did you join to role model a successful business women to your girls? Did you join so that you can contribute to the family income?
SET GOALS for yourself (with your upline)--
Be specific: How much? By When?
Write them down and break them down into action steps.
1. Tell Everyone
Make a list of 100 or more people--I mean EVERYONE.
List your friends, family, extended family, doctor, lawyer, hairdresser, parent's groups, church members, neighbours...all of them!
Categorize them A, B and C
A= most likely to be interested in Watkins products or at least ONE of the services you offer
B= may be interested
C= unlikely to be interested
Call the C's first!
Let them know you have started your own business with Watkins and offer them your three services:
1. Customer: offer a catalogue so that they can order products
2. Free Products/save money through hosting a party
3. Earn money through joining the team
Ask how you can best serve them. Which of your services would they be most interested in?
2. Schedule your business--Nothing works until you do!
Treat your business like a business. You have to set consistent "work hours"--remember hobbies lose you money, businesses make you money!
Work your calendar!
Get out your calendar and pencil in all your commitments, or things you cannot change--such as kids events, music or dance lessons, meetings, volunteer work, etc.
Now pencil in all the times when you can work your business. How often would you like to do parties? Pencil in your Available Dates. Then phone people to get the dates filled. If you do not get a booking--Dial for Dollars. Call people and offer your services. Ask them to book a party to help you get your business started. Offer an extra $25 Gift Certificate if they book within one month. Tell them all the benefits of hosting a party.
3. Schedule and hold an OPEN HOUSE.
The best way to get customers and bookings is to do the first event yourself. Host an Open House to launch your business.
**Remember to keep in close contact with your upline. You are not on your own. They are there to help you build a successful business. Ask questions. Shadow them at a party. Listen in on a call. Take notes. Ask for additional training and coaching.
